Northern Colorado is experiencing an increase in spas across the region, giving residents and visitors alike a chance to relax and rejuvenate in the shadow of the Rocky Mountains. From Fort Collins to Loveland to Greeley, spas catering to skin care and relaxation offer clients variety and affordability.
Full spa treatments across Northern Colorado range from $200-$300 for approximately five hours of individual attention. Currently, there are more than 20 spas listed in the telephone directory for Windsor, Loveland, Greeley and Fort Collins. One niche not covered in that list is medical spas, which are the fastest growing service industries.
"I do think nowadays, people are moving to wellness and taking care of their bodies," said Van Ao, owner of Body & Spa Rituals in Old Town Fort Collins. "Twenty years ago, no one would know what you mean when you say 'day spa.' Now, it's not a luxury, it's a necessity. If a person is happy, then their family is happy."
"It's really an escape," said Cathi Christensen of Loveland. "You go and say, 'Here I am,' and they take care of you. I'm getting older and I need to take care of myself."
