Child-Friendly Spa Opens
Many women wish they could pamper themselves with an afternoon at the spa - and they would if they had a reasonable child care option. Now, an American Canyon spa offers moms a chance to relax while their children are being cared for nearby.
The MumSpa is a private massage and spa facility that provides traditional spa treatments to moms on the go. While moms are enjoying their facials, pedicures and Swedish massages, children have an area where they can play and be entertained with adult supervision. MumSpa caters to one client at a time and accepts children of any age as long as they are comfortable being away from mom for an hour or so.
"Women with children who have forfeited massage for lack of baby-sitting need not shun the massage table any longer," said Vicki Mudgett, owner and certified massage therapist for MumSpa. "Now, moms can enjoy an intensive massage and Jacuzzi in a private setting and receive the full benefits without having to rush to the baby-sitter afterward."
Mudgett said the concept for the spa came from personal experience and necessity. "I have two children and completely understand the quandary of child care," she said. The American Canyon spa offers Swedish massage, deep tissue and pressure point massage therapy. Child care includes a certified child care provider and an array of games, toys and videos for children of all ages.
