Spa Trends: Which Have You Tried?
At the start of the year, Spa Finder Magazine published a list of 35 spa trends for 2005. The list compared what was Hot in 2004 to what is Hotter in 2005. For the spa professional, the Hotter list means new treatments and services to incorporate into the business; for the consumer, the list offers suggestions for fabulous new spa experiences.
Key trends on the list include
|
Hot in 2004
|
Hotter in 2005
|
| Anti-aging |
Healthy aging |
| Spa after baby |
Spa with baby |
| Spas for the affluent |
Spas for all |
| Day spa |
mobile spa |
| Couples treatment room |
In-room mini-spa |
| Golf communities |
Spa communities |
| Spas after work |
Spas at work |
| Spa going |
Spa living |
Several of the key trends seem to point toward two primary outcomes: first, the spa experience is no longer reserved for the very wealthy; second, spa is fast becoming a way of life for complete mental, emotional and physical health, rather than a mere occasional indulgence. And one thing is for certain: the concept of spa is evolving in every way imaginable, and both spa professionals and consumers will reap its benefits for years to come.
