The Spa Association Launches International Licensing System
The Spa Association has created Spa Secure, an international licensing system that will enable consumers to recognize a spa's dedication to the industry's highest business principles, customer service operations, and health and safety standards.
Spa Secure will enact a plan that includes "mystery" shopping and auditing those spas that are licensed through Spa Secure. Spas whose standards fall below Spa Secure's level of acceptance will be issued a set of probationary procedures to improve. Licensure can be revoked for spas failing to meet Spa Secure's standards.
Spas desiring to receive Spa Secure licensure must submit to an extensive examination process, including a written exam and on on-site inspection. Spas that meet Spa Secure's standards will be issued a logo that identifies them as a Spa Secure-licensed facility.
