More Men Walking in the Spa Door
More and more men are beginning to understand the benefits of spa treatments and more and more spas are starting to cater services to their male clientele. From job stress to sports injuries, soreness and chronic pain, men are beginning to seek relief at local day spas.
Men still tend to prefer mostly massage treatments while women take advantage of other spa services such as facials, manicures and pedicures. However, as more men come to appreciate the value of their spa treatments and have positive experiences, they are branching out to other services such as aromatherapy and hot stone massage.
Men in the 40- to 49-year-old age demographic with high-stress jobs and disposable income, tend to see the spa treatments as a way to maintain their health and energy for their high-powered lifestyles. Many companies now offer spa treatments to employees as a reward for a job well done. And many employees now treat themselves to mini spa vacations, as most don't make it away for lunch, let alone a traditional two-week vacation.
More and more men are realizing the wear and tear on their bodies affects other aspects of their life as well, and they are looking to restore and regroup in the kind of environment a day spa provides.
