ISPA Recognizes Spa Innovators
John E. Lopis, PhD, and Ginny Michel-Lopis, founders of JGL, Inc., were awarded the ISPA 2005 Visionary Award at the International SPA Association Conference and Expo, Sept, 30-Oct. 3 in Dallas, Texas. The ISPA Visionary Award is given to an active ISPA member or members who have contributed significantly toward the definition and positive movement of health and wellness over the course of their career.
"As two of eight founders of ISPA, the vision shared for the association by John and Ginny Lopis is profound," said ISPA Chairwoman Kate Mearns. "As visionaries, they lead by example and encourage others to transform words into actions."
The Lopis' have a long history with ISPA and have contributed to its success since its inception. In 1991, John Lopis served as vice president on the first ISPA Board of Directors and both served as ISPA conference chairs. John also recently served on the ISPA nominations committee.
"We are truly honored to be recognized by our friends and colleagues, many of whom have unselfishly contributed to our success, and in our minds, share in this award," said John and Ginny Lopis. "We are amazed and humbled to receive this special and unexpected honor. There are so many deserving people who have contributed so much to ISPA and to the spa industry over the years."
